Notorious ~ Band Studio Session

Some time ago I did a studio session with a great bunch of guys from the band Notorious.  This guys went for the whole enchilada, with full make-up and hair.  We had a ton of laughs and I think we created some standout work.    As I was digging around today I thought it was time I shared some shots from that session.  Please drop me a note in comments at the bottom and let me know which one is your favourite.

The Wind, The Waves & The Brave

A couple of evenings ago, I got out of the office in the late afternoon and headed to the beach with the family.  We enjoyed a picnic supper and some R&R time.  Toward the end of the evening we made our way to one of a break waters and I took a few shots.  These ones are dedicated to a friend of mine who used to windsurf a lot.  I think he’d like to get back into it and I’m hoping this will give him the push he needs.  There is a large community of windsurfers that hits the beach almost daily not far from his house.  So my friend…GET YOUR BUTT IN GEAR!

Maybe next time these types of shots will have my buddy in them.   Enjoy!

Getting Down to Business

Here’s just a quick post for Friday afternoon.  We did a business portrait session this week that included a mix of formal and business causal shots.  Have a look and let me know which is your favourite.

Me, Myself & I

Not surprisingly I’m the camera guy in my house.  That means there are loads of pictures of everyone else but me.  This has gone on for far too long, so I’m taking matters into my own hands.  Yesterday, I had a little time after finishing up some processing on a couple of shoots and the studio wasn’t booked.  I thought it was time to play around a little and get creative.  I had a blast creating some self-portraits.  The time went by in a flash (grin).

I accomplished two things during this process.  First, I was able to get some pictures of me and second (for my photographer friends out there) I was able to play around with my pre-release cable and do some remote triggering of my camera and strobes.  It’s a lot of fun to think outside the box with regard to camera position and remote triggering.  I think I’ll make this an ongoing project as I get time.

Here’s a couple of the images I captured in just a few minutes of shooting.

Winter Getaway Part 2

Well I’m alive and well and had a great time on this year’s winter trip.  Every time I go out I learn a little more and grow in  appreciation of the solitude.  The standout highlight of this adventure was waking up eye to eye with a moose about 2.5 meters away.  It was amazing and incredible peaceful to absorb those moments.  A truly unforgettable time.

As promised here are a few shots from our time in Algonquin.  Many thanks to my buddy Lewis for making this year work amidst it’s challenges.
