Like many of you, my children just enjoyed their March break. We were fortunate enough to get some time to head out of town and visit family. Thanks to a few extra days out of the office and not having to rush right back, I was able to settle myself down enough to do some photography just for the sheer joy of it.
Our third morning away, I got up before the sun and headed out in search of quiet and light. As the dawn began to peek across the horizon I scouted the narrow back-roads looking for just the right illumination and scene. There were few cars on the road, no deadlines and no pressure. It was enjoyable to be off the clock and free to create anyway I saw fit. By the end of my time out I had stopped at three locations. Each stop offered the cool welcome, of crisp spring air. I embraced it gladly as I breathed deeply. The moments spent at each location almost seemed to exist outside of time. My normal ability to perceive time seemed dull in this environment. The only sense of urgency was for perfect light. By the end of it all, I felt as though I had spent much more time than had actually passed. I was refreshed and rejuvenated. It really was time well spent.
Here’s a little of what I captured. I’d love to know which is your favorite, so please leave a comment and have your say.
