Tuesday’s are one of the days my sweetheart gets home early. And today, I must admit I was more than a little susceptible to diversions. So when the love of my life arrived home is was easy to come up with a suggestion I knew she’d go for…Starbucks.
After a quick trip to Starbucks, we hit the road and went for a drive with our freshly acquired liquid treat in hand. For me it was a Tazo Chai Tea Latte (a quick way to win my heart) and for her it’s the daily bold brew. We drove around the back roads, took in the scenery and discovered some new neat places. All this before all the kids were home from school.
What did I learn? Distractions can be good. We need more time together, not following “the plan”. Life is for living!
Being that this is our first Christmas in Stittsville we’re excitedly getting into the Christmas spirit and trying to take in our communities festivities. Toward that goal we attend this year’s Parade of Lights on Saturday November 29, 2008.
In preparation we brewed up a yummy batch of hot chocolate and headed out the door. The crowd was upbeat, friendly and excited to get a glimpse of Santa. It was truly enjoyable to particiapate with a such a warm, neighbourly community event.
