Winter Getaway Part 2

Well I’m alive and well and had a great time on this year’s winter trip.  Every time I go out I learn a little more and grow in  appreciation of the solitude.  The standout highlight of this adventure was waking up eye to eye with a moose about 2.5 meters away.  It was amazing and incredible peaceful to absorb those moments.  A truly unforgettable time.

As promised here are a few shots from our time in Algonquin.  Many thanks to my buddy Lewis for making this year work amidst it’s challenges.

Winter Getaway

At the end of a crazy week (6 models in 2 days) that was too much fun I am taking off into the great white North.  It’s that time of year again when I head out on my annual winter camping trip.  This year we’re heading back to Algonquin Provincial Park.  We’ll be snowshoeing (with our 50 lb packs) to Guskewau or Ramona Lake on the “Western Uplands Backpacking Trail”.  If all goes well I’ll have some some good shots to share with you when I return.

Have a great weekend!

MUA Madness

Well I’m in the thick of a very last minute collaboration with a great makeup artist (MUA) from Toronto.  She made her way up here yesterday (braving the snowy roads) so we could work together.  Last night we kicked things off with a couple of models and tonight we’re taking it to the limit and working with four more.  These are those sleep is optional type of shoots.  It’s been a blast so far and there’s lots more to come.

Here’s a couple of shots of Elizabeth from yesterday.  She was really great to work with and we had a blast, even in sub-zero temperatures.  :~)

Greek Frappé Coffee and Good Times

Spent some time in the studio with Di awhile back but for some unknown reason failed to tell you about it.  First off we had a great time filled with lots of laughs , experimentation and fun wardrobe.  Di is a gem to work with.  She’s full of life, incredibly kind, adores her family and never shrinks back from a new challenge.  No need to mention that she is also stunningly beautiful; the images speak for themselves.

She came prepared to be daring and that made my job so much easier.  The wardrobe she brought was fun, funky and flattering.  After a few hours of shooting, laughing and drinking lots of Greek frappé coffee here are some of the shots we created together.

Di, thanks for the great memories.  I can hardly wait till the next time.

Steve Jobs Keynote

toad40-august-10-2004-blk.jpgI suppose like our little friend here many of you are doing what I’m doing; sitting in anticipation, eagerly waiting to see what Mr. Jobs will have for us today.  It’s always exciting to watch the keynote and see where my next paycheck(s) will be going.  I suppose I’ll have to wait awhile before they have the Keynote up on the web for viewing.  Until then, I’m hanging out with Toady.
