Holding on to Summer Part 2

Well it seems that I am sort of stuck on celebrating Summer. I guess I’ll just roll with it and keep sharing some of my summer’s fond memories.

One of the highlights of this year’s vacation season was a pig roast that we crashed. That’s right, we crashed it! And OH did we make a splash! There’s even a vicious rumor that I showed up in a hula skit and coconut bikini top with an axe in my hand and a live chicken. Where do people come up with this stuff?

Anyway, my buddy’s brother (who came winter camping with us last year for the first time) was hosting a pig roast about 5.5 hours from us but a bunch of us (15 with all the kids I think) decided we should go and spread the love. Sure, we weren’t specifically invited but let’s not get bogged down in the details. Oh shoot! There were 16 of us I almost forgot Rusty the chicken.

When the dust settled after this weekend adventure we were all tired, well-fed, and most of us had developed the odd eye twitch or other tic. All this in the name of crazy fun. When’s the last time you did something nutty? Tell me about it in the comments section.

Tell the Story!

This is my buddy Arny. His brother hosts an annual pig roast and yes you’re invited.

Holding on to Summer

Today I spent quite a bit of time outside and although it was cold, it was also bright and beautiful!  It reminded me again just how wonderful this Autumn has been. We’ve been fortunate here in Ottawa and have yet to experience any significant signs of old man Winter’s return.  It’s coming and when it arrives I’ll enjoy it.  Some of you may not.  So here are a few images to carry you through the long hours of Winter’s darkness until the warmth of Summer’s sun returns.

Lifesaver

Ever been in need of some help? I am on a regular basis. I’m also very fortunate to have many good friends who are immensely talented and generously lend a helping hand. Over the last number of months I’ve needed a helping hand in the form of a productivity boost. In fact, for several weeks I’ve been almost completely stalled. But thankfully the lifesaver I needed arrived almost a week ago now. It came in the form of a new computer. Things are starting to fall back into place now and the backlog of work is down to a manageable size. Many thanks to those of you who have been so patiently waiting for images. Hmmm… this reminds me of an old adage: “An Apple a day keeps the doctor away”.
